Selling and buying clearance stock: common questions
How do I sell dead stock or unsold inventory quickly?
List the product, quantity and your target price. Our team checks the lot and puts it on the stock board, where bulk buyers who take whole lots can see it. We reply usually within 1 working day.
What does it cost to list my stock?
Nothing for a normal listing: listing and browsing are free. Becoming ClearLot Verified is optional, and we tell you the fee before you pay anything. Private listing, for lots over Rs 10 lakh, is a paid service: Rs 1,500 for a period of 3 months.
Will buyers see who I am?
No. A lot shows the product, brand, quantity, stock age, city and price. Your name, business name and phone number are not shown on the website. We share them only with a buyer we connect you with, and otherwise as our Privacy Policy says.
Does ClearLot buy my stock?
No. ClearLot never buys, holds or transports stock. We connect sellers and buyers, and you agree the price, payment and dispatch with the other side directly.
How do I buy a stock lot?
Open a lot on the stock board and tap I am interested. We call you and then connect you with the seller. You inspect the goods and pay the seller directly.
Can I see photos of a lot before I buy?
Many lots have photos supplied by the seller. If a lot has none, tick Send me photos on the lot page and we will get photos or a video from the seller. Always inspect the goods yourself before you pay.
What is ClearLot Verified?
A verified seller or buyer has shown us business documents such as a GST registration, and we have checked them. Verified lots are shown first. Verified is not a guarantee of any stock, payment or deal.
Can I get finance to buy a lot?
You can send a stock finance enquiry. ClearLot is not a lender. With your consent we pass the enquiry to regulated lenders, and the lender decides whether to lend and on what terms.
Can I sell near-expiry, old-season or customer-return stock?
Yes. New, open-box, returned, old-season and near-expiry stock can all find buyers, as long as you describe the condition truthfully. Stock that has already expired, or whose dates or labels have been changed, cannot be offered.
