What is ClearLot
ClearLot is a stock board for excess and dead stock in India
ClearLot (clearlot.in) is a free-to-list website where businesses sell excess, aging and dead stock as whole lots, and bulk buyers find them. It introduces the seller and the buyer. It does not buy, hold or transport the stock.
In one paragraph
A manufacturer, brand, distributor or trader with stock they cannot sell lists it on ClearLot. The ClearLot team checks the lot and publishes it on the stock board without the seller's name, business name or phone number. A bulk buyer who wants it tells ClearLot. The team speaks to the buyer, then connects the two. They agree the price, payment and dispatch directly.
Who it is for
Sellers
Manufacturers, brands and D2C sellers, distributors, wholesalers, traders and retailers who hold excess stock, dead stock, cancelled-order goods, customer returns, old-season goods, near-expiry goods, export surplus, spare parts or used machinery.
Buyers
Wholesalers, retailers, resellers and online sellers, factories, exporters, contractors and project companies, and scrap and recycling dealers who buy surplus in bulk.
How it works for a seller
- Send the product, quantity, stock age, condition, city and your estimate of the stock value.
- Answer a few short questions about why you are selling and your lowest price.
- The ClearLot team checks the lot and approves it. Nothing is shown to visitors before approval.
- Buyers browse the lot by category and tell ClearLot they are interested.
- The team speaks to the buyer, then introduces you. You decide whether to go ahead.
How it works for a buyer
Browse the stock board by category, open a lot and press "I'm interested". The ClearLot team calls you and then connects you with the seller. You inspect the goods and pay the seller directly. You can also tell ClearLot what you buy and be told when a matching lot comes in.
What it costs
- Listing stock is free. Browsing is free.
- ClearLot Verified is optional. The fee is told to you before you pay.
- A Featured listing is a paid highlight. The price is told to you on a call.
- ClearLot never asks for money for goods and never asks for a deposit.
What ClearLot checks, and what it does not
The team approves every lot before it is published and speaks to a buyer before connecting them with a seller. Verified members have also shown their business documents. ClearLot does not inspect, store or guarantee any stock, seller or buyer. Check the other side and the stock yourself before you pay or dispatch. The disclaimer and safe dealing guide explains how.
What ClearLot is not
- It is not a marketplace with checkout, an auction, or an escrow service.
- It does not buy stock, warehouse it or arrange transport.
- It is not a party to any deal between a seller and a buyer.
