How we handle your information

Software Today ("ClearLot", "we") runs this website. This page explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect

Details you give us in a form: your name, mobile number, city, business name, what you sell or buy, and anything else you choose to type. Buyers may also give a GSTIN and an email address.
Verification and finance details: if you apply to be verified or send a stock finance enquiry, your GSTIN, PAN, type of business, how long you have traded, and the amount of finance you are asking about.
Photographs of stock that a seller sends us. Before a photograph is shown we remove the hidden data cameras store in it, such as the place it was taken.
How you found us: if you arrive from an advertisement or a link with campaign tags, we remember the campaign name in a cookie for 30 days so we know which campaign a form came from.
Your agreement to our Terms: when you send a form we record the date and time, the version of the Terms you agreed to, and the internet address (IP) the form came from, so that we can show what was agreed.
Documents we ask for: before an introduction we may ask for business documents such as a GST registration, PAN, proof of identity and authority, proof of ownership of stock or a licence. Please do not send us your Aadhaar number.
Technical records: our server keeps standard logs, and we count form submissions per connection to stop spam.

Why we collect it

To contact you about the stock you want to sell, the stock you want to buy, or your partner application.
To introduce sellers and buyers whose needs match.
To check business details against public records, and to prevent, investigate and report fraud or unlawful trade.
To improve the website and measure which campaigns work.

Who we share it with

Buyers: when you join the buyer list you agree that we may share your name, business and contact number with sellers whose stock matches what you buy.
Sellers, on the stock board: a description of your stock is shown publicly on this website: the product, brand, quantity, age, condition, price, city and any photographs. Your name, business name and phone number are not shown there.
Sellers, with a buyer: we share your name, business and contact number with a buyer we connect you with for a lot.
Lenders: if you send a stock finance enquiry, we pass your details to banks or finance companies regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, only for that enquiry.
Channel partners and service providers who help us run the service, such as hosting, only as far as they need it.
Authorities and affected parties: the police, tax authorities, regulators and courts when the law requires or allows it, and a person or brand owner affected by suspected fraud or unlawful goods.

ClearLot may charge a fee for an introduction or for verification, and may receive a fee from a lender. We do not sell your details to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not share them for any purpose other than the ones above.

Cookies

The public website uses one cookie of its own, to remember the campaign that brought you here. If analytics is switched on, the analytics provider also sets cookies to count visits.

How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. We may keep records of what was agreed, and of any complaint or suspected fraud, for as long as the law requires or allows.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Write to info@clearlot.in.

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
