How to sell warehouse excess stock in India
Warehouse excess stock is inventory that is more than you can sell, or no longer fits your range: slow movers, cancelled orders, returns, old packaging and seasonal leftovers. It costs storage, interest and handling every month. The aim is to turn it into cash before it loses more value.

Short answer
Count the stock by item, age and condition, work out what each month of storage costs you, set a price for the whole lot, and offer it to wholesalers, liquidators, resellers and project buyers. One buyer for the full lot is usually faster than many small sales.
Work out the real cost of waiting
Add monthly rent or storage charge, labour and handling, insurance, and interest on the money tied up in the stock. If a lot costs you a few percent of its value every month to hold, a lower price today often beats a better price that arrives next year.
Who buys warehouse excess stock
- Wholesalers and distributors for goods that still sell
- Liquidators and bulk traders, who buy fast at a lower price
- Resellers and online sellers for mixed branded goods
- Factories and project companies for parts, material and equipment
- Exporters for goods that suit overseas buyers
What to put in the listing
- Product, brand, model, pack size and quantity
- Condition and age, and the reason it is surplus
- Photos of the stack, the carton and the label or batch number
- Where it is, and the minimum quantity you will sell
Keep proof ready
Buyers ask for the purchase invoice or GST bill and clear photos first. Stock backed by a bill sells faster and at a better price. See also our guide on how to sell dead stock.
How ClearLot helps
If your warehouse holds excess or slow-moving stock, list it on ClearLot so bulk buyers can find it without you running a sale. ClearLot is a free-to-list stock board in India. Our team checks every lot before it goes on the board, and your name, business name and phone number are not shown to visitors. When a buyer is interested, we speak to them first and then connect you. ClearLot does not buy, hold, move, store or recycle anything, and it is not a party to the deal: price, payment and dispatch are agreed between you and the buyer.
